· Marie Laveau is known as the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans.
· She is buried in St. Louis Cemetery and it is believed to be
haunted and visitors claim to have seen her ghost walking around the cemetery.
· Marie became a hairdresser and most of her clients were
wealthy white socialites.
· She had access to a lot of information because of her wealthy
clients and her wealthy client’s servants and slaves. She had all the access to
these people so she was able to convince people that she was a Voodoo priestess
and had mystical powers.
· Pere Antoine was a man that was strong in his beliefs which
were God and the people of New Orleans.
· He was also known as Antonio de Sedella.
· He was a Spanish Capuchin friar who served as the leading
religious authority of the Catholic Church in New Orleans.
· He became a noted figure in the culture of the city and his
ghost is said to walk an alley that is now named after him which runs alongside
the cities cathedral.
